Process in UX is the key to getting solutions that work as well as solutions that are visually pleasing. This is how I approach design problems and how I use my process to craft solutions.
One of the most important stages in the process Identifying the problems and assessing the lift, difficulty and impact will set the project up for success.
After the problem is defined it is important to analyze solutions and research industry trends that can help with the solution and approach to solving the problem.
After researching quick wireframes are sometimes needed for overall UI and flow. Once UI and flow are ironed out design starts.
After designing sometimes prototypes are needed for interactions or more complex solutions.
I then take the prototype or design and test. I start with gorilla testing (a few coworkers in different departments). I also rely on the research department for more in-depth testing.
I take any findings from the prototype and testing stages and apply back to the design.
